Activity Information & Registration

General Information
The Parks and Recreation Department offers various activities throughout the year for all ages. Please be aware of the following information:
  • Occasionally, school activities or inclement weather will force cancellation of some sessions. In such cases, we will attempt to reschedule; however, there is no guarantee. Activities will not be held on school holidays and may not necessarily meet every week due to school events or facility availability.
  • Children must be the age or grade specified by the first scheduled session. Adults are classified as individuals age 18 and older.
  • Avoid waiting until the last minute to register. Activities with low enrollment may be cancelled before the first scheduled class.
  • Fees are not pro-rated. To cancel or receive a refund, see the cancellation and refund policy below.
  • Please notify the office if you have any medical condition, special need, or if you require special assistance to participate in an activity.
How to Register
Registration can be completed online, by mail, in person, or by phone.  Please visit our How to Register page for more information.

Activity Lottery Spin
At the beginning of each registration season, an activity lottery spin will be performed. Check our Seasonal Brochure page for the current season's brochure listing "spin" dates. The lottery "spin" is our computer-generated activity lottery drawing system. Here’s how it works:
  • All activity registrations received from the household form in the current brochure will be entered into the lottery, or you may enter the lottery using the Online Registration System.
  • Your registration fee will be deposited immediately.
  • You will receive an email (if an email address was provided on the household form) stating that you have been entered into the lottery.
  • Following the lottery spin, you will receive another email informing you of your enrollment status.
  • If you are not selected for desired activities, you will be placed on a waiting list. See the waiting list policy below.
You may continue to enroll in open activities after the lottery spin; however, during the actual computerized "spin" of the lottery, the Online Registration System will be unavailable.

"Buddy" Activity Enrollment
When registering for the lottery spin online, the "Buddy" link allows you to link an activity enrollment to another member in your household so that both the member and the household buddy are enrolled in an activity together (if space permits). Remember that you must enroll both members and link both members as “buddies” in order for this to work.

If you would like a buddy link with someone not in your own household, you will need to enter the lottery spin by mail.

General Rules and Policies
Please be aware of the following general rules and regulations regarding activity registration.

Payment is due at the time of registration.  We accept cash, personal checks, and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, or Discovery only). Please make checks payable to "Town of Bethlehem."  For phone-in and online registration, payments must be made by credit card.

  • A cancellation fee of $5 per person per refund request will be deducted from all refunds, or your refund may be applied to your household as a credit with no cancellation fee.
  • A pro-rated refund will be granted if the office is notified prior to the second class following the participant’s registration date.
  • If the Parks and Recreation Department must cancel an activity, no cancellation fee is charged.
  • Refunds may take 4 to 6 weeks.
  • If an activity fills up, you will be placed on a waiting list, and your payment will be processed. You will be notified if an opening in the activity occurs.  If you are not selected from the waiting list, your payment will be applied to your household as a credit, or you may request a refund.
Age Policy
Unless otherwise noted, recreation activities require participants to reach the minimum age or grade by the first scheduled class.  Please note that the town reserves the right to request age verification at the initial arrival to any activity.
