State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Process
The Pilgrim Pipeline is subject to the review under SEQR, which is to be carried out by jointly by the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation and the NYS Thruway Authority. This process is intended to identify potential impacts, and the Town is following this process and will take steps to ensure that potential impacts on Bethlehem’s environment, landowners, and historic resources are considered and addressed in the review process. Following is a letter to the agencies responsible for the review that advocates for an extended timeline with hearings in each affected county, so as to ensure maximum feasible public participation: DEIS Scoping Process for Pilgrim Pipeline Project.
Due to interest in the community to learn more about Kinder Morgan’s proposed Northeast Energy Direct Pipeline, we are providing links to the recent Town Board discussion of the project and to project information and maps.
