Kate is an attorney and currently the Senior Policy Advisor and Director of Legislative Affairs for NYS Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman. Kate graduated, summa cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law and also received a Master’s in Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. In addition, she holds a Master’s in Social Work with a Concentration in Health/Mental Health Policy and Practice from the University of Vermont. In 2013, Kate earned a Certificate in Global Affairs from New York University and has spent much of her adult life, both professionally as an attorney and in various volunteer capacities, working to increase the transparency and competency of government at all levels and increasing the participation of citizens in their government. Kate is a Member of the Board of Congregation Beth Sholom and is a frequent guest lecturer in law school and undergraduate classes as well as a host for international students studying locally and has traveled to over 20 countries. Kate is an enthusiastic supporter of the Delmar Community Orchestra where her husband, Josh Pepper, plays the clarinet.
Kate, a resident of Delmar and was first appointed on June 13, 2007 and most recently reappointed on January 10, 2018. Her term expires on December 31, 2022.
