Press Release regarding Bethlehem PD National Night Out

On Tuesday August 7, 2018 the Bethlehem Police Department participated in their 3rd National Night Out event, an annual community-building campaign promoting police-community partnerships.  This event is held in millions of neighborhoods in all fifty states and worldwide.  The event was from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Elm Avenue Town Park at 249 Elm Avenue.  This event is to enhance the relationships between not only Law Enforcement and our neighbors, but emergency services as well.  There were displays by Bethlehem police, fire and EMS vehicles and also the NYSP K-9, FBI-Albany, Sabic FD, Delmar FD, Elsmere FD, Slingerlands FD, Selkirk FD, Delmar-Bethlehem EMS, Albany County Paramedic and NYS Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Services.  Police Officers were on hand to present crime prevention, pedestrian / bicycle safety and personal safety information.  Police Officers and other volunteers handed out free sno-cones, make your own sundaes donated by Stewart’s and balloons donated by Sabic.  Bounce rides by Bounce A Lot, face painting by About Face and popcorn by Adirondack Kettle Korn were also available and made possible through a grant from Target.   KISS 102.3 was on hand playing music and the Town of Bethlehem Parks and Recreation Department offered free admission to the pool complex.  Informational tables from AAA, Bethlehem Community Church and the American Legion were also at the event.  NYSP did a K-9 demonstration and the Slingerlands Fire Departments did a vehicle extrication demonstration.  Monetary donations were also received from the Teamsters Union to help support the event.  The Bethlehem Police would like to thank all those that came out and attended our great event and we hope to see you all at our next National Night Out.

After this event, join us for a late night swim and movie under the stars on the big screen. The movie will start at 8:15 p.m. Sorry, no floats allowed in the pools. Free admission after 6:00 p.m.
