Albany County Rabies Immunization Clinic - Elm Avenue Park, Town of Bethlehem 6/4

Tuesday, June 4, 2019

All rabies vaccination clinics are open to any Albany County resident. All animals MUST BE on leashes or in carriers. Rabies shots are required for all cats, dogs, and domestic ferrets by four months of age, and owners can be fined up to $200 if they fail to get their pets vaccinated and keep them up-to-date.

IN NYS, ALL DOGS, CATS AND FERRETS ARE REQUIRED BY LAW TO BE VACCINATED AGAINST RABIES

Rabies vaccination clinics for dogs, cats and ferrets have been arranged by the Albany County Department of Health in cooperation with the Capital District Veterinary Medical Society.

ALL DOGS, CATS AND FERRETS MUST BE ON LEASHES OR IN CARRIERS.

A record of prior vaccination will be required for a three-year immunization certification. If no record is presented, a one-year vaccination certificate will be issued.

All clinics are open to Albany County residents.

Donation: $8.00 per animal.

A vaccination is only effective for either a one or three year period. The initial vaccination is effective for a one year period with subsequent vaccinations effective for three years.

Rabies remain prevalent in Albany County wildlife. In 2012, sixteen (16) rabid animals were confirmed positive for rabies.
