Police Press Release - BPD warns residents on recent rash of theft from unlocked vehicles in Delmar

          The Bethlehem Police Department is currently investigating a series of overnight thefts from unlocked vehicles in Delmar.  Overnight from Wednesday, December 5th to the early morning hours of Thursday, December 6th, unknown person(s) entered multiple vehicles and stole items consisting of change, electronics and personal property.

            The majority of the thefts took place in the Old Delmar neighborhood.  At this time police are investigating fifteen reports of theft or of vehicles that appeared to have been ransacked.

            Bethlehem Police are providing the following precautions in an effort to prevent becoming a victim of these types of crimes:

  • Ensure all vehicles parked outside overnight are locked at all times
  • Leave valuables out of view in the vehicle
  • Leave exterior lightning, or motion lights, on overnight
