Responsibilities of Committee

Background/Mission:

The Town’s Comp Plan provides policy guidance regarding land use, development, and growth of the Town. While it appropriately focuses on broad community issues related to growth and development, it does not provide significant insight into how the Town government must evolve as an organization to achieve the Comp Plan vision. The establishment of the 20/20 advisory committee will provide the Town with a vehicle to involve key community stakeholders and to stimulate a community-wide conversation about the long-term strategic direction of the Town government. The mission of the 20/20 committee will be to assist the Town in making key organizational and investment decisions to ensure that it maximizes the potential to achieve the Comp Plan’s vision for 20/20.

Term of Appointment:

All members of the advisory committee will serve on a voluntary basis at the pleasure of the Town Board. The Town estimates that the initial work of the committee will require 16-18 months to complete.

Meeting Schedule:

There will be approximately one committee meeting per month and there will also be 2-3 public meetings and workshops held during the study period.

Tasks and Deliverables:

The 20/20 Committee will be responsible for providing general advice and guidance to the Town and for assisting in the development and review of interim and final work products and reports. After public discussion of its recommendations, the 2020 committee will produce a final report that makes recommendations with respect to:

  • Municipal infrastructure
  • Facility needs; and,
  • Programs and services
