A sewer line permit is
required before a connection to the public sewer system can be made. Apply for the permit at
the DPW Office in Room 203 at Town Hall.

Sewer Permits are required for all sewer connections
and repairs.The Bethlehem Sewer
District will need to perform an inspection on sewer lines that are connected
to the sewer system.
Insurance requirements: Any contractor
or other party performing work in connection with the construction of a sewer
connection must be approved by the Town and have on file with the Town an
Owner’s and Contractor’s protective liability insurance policy, in the name of
the Town of Bethlehem and/or the Town of Bethlehem Sewer District, in the
following amounts:
Bodily Injury - $2,000,000.00 (two million) each accident
Property damage - $500,000.00 (five hundred thousand)
A $5,000.00 (five thousand) dollar permit bond indemnifying
the Town of Bethlehem and/or the Town of Bethlehem Sewer District is required.
No permits will be issued until the insurance and bond
requirements are met.
Q. What is the difference between storm sewers and sanitary
sewers?
A. Sanitary Sewers have solid covers on them. Storm Sewers have open grate covers in
the road. When they become clogged with leaves or snow, please remove the
debris or call the Highway
Department at 439-4955, option 1 then option 3.
Discharging any material such as used motor oil,
paint, solvents, or pesticides into the storm or sanitary sewers is strictly
prohibited.If you observe someone
doing so please contact the Highway Department (439-4955, option 1 then option
3), Sewer Department (439-4955, option 1)
or Bethlehem Police Department (439-9973).

Police – 439-9973) if you experience a back-up in
