The Department of Public Works is responsible for operation of two water plants, two interconnections with the Albany Water Board water pipeline, the waste water treatment and disposal plant, six water storage tanks, 170 miles of water system pipeline, 140 miles of sewer collection pipeline and water and sewer billing/customer service. The Department is also responsible for planning new water and sewer infrastructure for the town. The Engineering group within Department is responsible for review of all planning projects, design and construction of town infrastructure projects and supports other town departments with necessary engineering expertise. The combined division employs fifty-five people.
