Responsibilities of Office

The Supervisor is the town's chief executive and is responsible for coordinating the operations of all town departments.  The Supervisor presides over the Town Board, an elected body that passes town budgets, enacts town legislation and conducts hearings on matters involving town government.  The Supervisor is also available to those who wish to discuss matters relevant to town business.

The Supervisor plays a key role in assisting business people and industry executives who are considering locating here.  As a part of the review process, the Supervisor arranges for informal discussions between interested business persons and developers and town planners, engineers and zoning regulators on site selections, town ordinances, zoning codes, and building permit requirements.  To help in financial matters whenever possible and to foster the strongest possible association with potential commercial and industrial site seekers, the Supervisor also works closely with agencies such as the town Industrial Development Agency, the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce, the Albany County Partnership and involved state offices.
