Drainage Issue Submission

If you have a drainage issue that is caused by a ruptured water or sewer main, please call the Water Division, (518) 439-4955, option 1 then option 2 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, or the Police Department at (518) 439-9973 after hours.

The Town of Bethlehem has separate systems for 'sanitary' sewer and storm water. Water from precipitation, lawn irrigation and other discharges of clean water should drain into the drainage system. If water pools in places and does not drain into the drainage system, there is a drainage issue.

The Town of Bethlehem may be responsible for fixing drainage issues in certain circumstances:
- Where the Town owns the property or a drainage easement on the property,
- When the drainage issue was created by Town activity,
- When the drainage issue is causing damage to Town property.

In other circumstances, the Town may not be responsible for fixing the drainage problem.

If you have a surface water drainage issue you wish the Town to investigate, please fill out the form below.

If you believe liquids or materials are being released into the drainage system that are not clean water, and should not flow untreated into our streams and rivers, please notify us on the stormwater management site.
