Winter Activities

The ice skating rink is scheduled to be open daily for general skating when the ice is four inches thick with a good surface. Call 439-4955, option 3 for current conditions and updates. Skating hours are 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Friday, Saturday and during school vacations. For skating information including current conditions and updates call 439-4955, option 3, 24 hours a day. When the green flag is flying, the skating rink is open. If the red flag is flying, the skating rink is closed. To accommodate hockey players, a portion of the rink will be set aside for hockey. There is no charge for skating or playing hockey.

Cross country skiing and snowshoeing are allowed in all the parks, except on the skating rink, including Colonial Acres. The trails begin at the tennis courts and are marked but not groomed. Maps are available at the Park office.

Snowmobiling is permitted in the field area south of the park office building along Route 32.  Open during daylight hours only.

Sledding is available on the large hill behind the small pavilion A and at Maple Ridge Park. The hills may be closed if they are too icy. Please, no skis or snow boards on the hills. Open during the daylight hours only.
