Parks and Recreation
Activity Information and Registration
General Information
The Parks and Recreation Department offers activities throughout
the year for all ages.
Occasionally school activities or inclement weather will force
cancellation of some sessions. In such cases, we will attempt to reschedule,
however, there is no guarantee. Activities will not be held on school holidays
and may not necessarily meet every week due to school events or facility
availability.
Children must be the age specified by the first scheduled
session. Adults are 18 and older.
Avoid waiting until the last minute to
register. Activities with low enrollment may be cancelled before the first
scheduled class.
Fees are not pro-rated. To cancel or receive a refund, see
the Cancellation/Refund Policy below.
Please notify the office if you have any medical condition,
special need, or if you require special assistance to participate in a program.
NOTE: The on-line registration site requires a JavaScript-enabled
browser and minimum resolution of 800 x 600. The site also uses Transport
Layer Security (TLS). If you are using a browser older than Internet
Explorer 7, you must turn on TLS 1.0 on the browser or you will receive
the message "Page Cannot be Displayed". To turn on TLS, from your browser
window, click Tools - Internet Options. Click the Advanced tab, scroll
down to the bottom and click on "Use TLS 1.0". Make sure "Use SSL 3.0" is
also checked.
Tested on Firefox 2 and Internet Explorer 7
Activity Lottery Spin
At the beginning of each registration season, an activity lottery spin will be
performed. Check the
current season's brochure for "spin" dates. Lottery “Spin” is our new computer generated activity
lottery drawing system. Here’s how it works:
- All activity registrations received from the Household Form in the
current brochure will be entered into the Lottery.
- OR you may enter the Lottery using the Online Registration System.
- Your registration fee will be deposited immediately.
- You will receive an e-mail (if an e-mail address was provided on the
household form) stating you have been entered into the Lottery.
- Following the Lottery Spin you will receive another e-mail informing you of your
enrollment status.
- If you are not selected for desired activities you will be placed on a wait list.
See waiting list policy below.
You may continue to enroll in open activities after the Lottery Spin, however,
during the actual computerized "spin" of the lottery, the Online Registration
System will be unavailable.
"Buddy" Activity Enrollment
When registering for the Lottery Spin online, the “Buddy” link allows you to link an activity
enrollment to another member in your household so that both the member and the household buddy are
enrolled in an activity together (if space permits). REMEMBER you must ENROLL BOTH members and LINK
BOTH members as “buddies” in order for this to work.
If you would like a buddy link with
someone not in your own household you will need to enter the Lottery Spin by mail.
