Get the latest Senior Services Newsletter in the Senior Services office at Town Hall, in one of the Senior Transportation vehicles or online to find out some of the great things available to our town's senior population. Social outings to plays, musicals, dinners, sporting events, movies and more are always going on. Transportation to doctor's appointments, grocery shopping, etc. is available by reservation, call 439-5770. Senior Legal Services Program and Smart Drivers Courses are offered on a regular basis. Discussion and Support Groups meet monthly. The staff can help with housing options, food and meal programs, referrals to available programs and finding senior organizations of interest. If you are in need of assistance with Medicare options, durable medical equipment (walkers, shower chairs, etc.), home heating help, Medicaid, food pantry or anything you would like to find out for which you qualify or if you need assistance with certain applications, contact the Outreach staff at extensions 1173 or 1175.
The Bethlehem Senior Services Department provides information and assistance to services and programs for independently living residents of the Town, age 60 and over. The Senior Services Office is located in Room 110 of the Bethlehem Town Hall, 445 Delaware Avenue in Delmar, NY and is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. An "independently living resident of the Town" is a person who lives in a home or apartment in the Town of Bethlehem and does not reside in an adult care facility, retirement community, skilled nursing facility or rehabilitation facility. A proof of residency may be requested.
