Marriage Licenses
A couple who intends to be married in New York must apply for a New York State marriage license at any town or city clerk’s office in the state. Instructions and worksheet to apply for a marriage license at the Town Clerk’s Office can be found by clicking on the link.
One Day License for Marriage Officiant
The Town Clerk can issue a one-day marriage officiant license upon request to a person who may then marry a couple who has applied for a license at our office. Instructions and form to obtain a one-day Marriage Officiant license can be found by clicking on the link.
Marriage Officiants
The Town Clerk’s Office does not perform marriage ceremonies. However, you can contact any one of the following individuals to officiate your ceremony. You must contact them in advance and secure a date and time to confirm their availability:

Marriage Transcript
Marriage records are only available to the spouses. Any other person requesting a copy of a marriage record must have a documented judicial or other proper purpose or New York State Court Order. Complete the Application for copy of marriage transcript and return to our office with payment and a copy of valid photo identification (such as driver’s license, passport or state-issued nondriver photo-ID card). The cost is $10.00 per copy and we accept cash or check made payable to Town of Bethlehem.
