The Historic Heath Farm Advisory Committee (HHFAC) is a volunteer committee tasked with providing community insights and technical recommendations to help the Town craft an overall vision for the Historic Heath Farm properties, and to help the Town implement the actions and next steps necessary for achieving this vision.
In July 2023, the Town of Bethlehem issued a call for applications for the HHFAC from individuals that were committed to the success of the project and have technical expertise in innovative farming, agri-tourism, veteran services, recreation, or a related field. In September 2023, staff and the Town Board interviewed 14 candidates who met these qualifications. 9 candidates were appointed to serve on the committee by the Town Board at their regular meeting on October 25, 2023.
The HHFAC’s first committee meeting will be held at the end of November or early December 2024. The first committee meeting will include introductions, a review of community vision survey results, and a discussion of site visits and projected schedule. The committee will serve for one year. At that time, the Town Board will assess the roles and effectiveness of the Committee and decide whether to continue, restructure, or allow the committee to end in December, 2024.
Meetings will be open to the public and will begin with a public comment period. For information about the committee and the progress of the Historic Heath Farm Initiative please visit: www.historicheathfarm.com.
